La Fenice è un uccello mitologico considerato in grado di controllare il fuoco e di rinascere dalle proprie ceneri dopo la morte. Dopo aver vissuto per 500 anni, la Fenice sentiva sopraggiungere la sua morte, si ritirava in un luogo appartato e costruiva un nido sulla cima di albero robusto, dove accatastava le più pregiate piante balsamiche, con le quali intrecciava un nido in cui vi si adagiava e lasciava che i raggi del sole lo incendiassero, lasciandosi poi consumare dalle sue stesse fiamme. Dal cumulo di cenere emergeva poi una piccola larva (o un uovo) che i raggi solari facevano crescere rapidamente fino a trasformarla nell’arco di tre giorni nella nuova giovane e potente Fenice.

RESURGO è realizzato con tecnica mista: polaroid stampate con emulsion lift process su carta cotone e manipolate successivamente mediante l’utilizzo dei negativi recuperati, di cenere e intagli su carta. La mini serie è composta da 4 opere, perché il 4 rappresenta la materia e, scomposto nei numeri 1 e 3, allude al 13, numero della trasformazione, della rinascita e del cambiamento.

The Phoenix is a mythological bird considered capable of controlling fire and being reborn from its ashes after death. After living for 500 years, the Phoenix felt its death coming, retired to a secluded place and built a nest on top of a robust tree, where it stacked the most valuable balsamic plants, with which it intertwined a nest in which it lay down and let the sun's rays set it on fire, then being consumed by its own flames. From the pile of ash then emerged a small larva, or an egg, which the sun's rays made grow rapidly until it was transformed within three days into the new young and powerful Phoenix.

RESURGO is made with mixed media: polaroids printed with emulsion lift process on cotton paper and subsequently manipulated using the recovered negatives, ash and carvings on paper. The mini series consists of 4 works, because the 4 represents the material and, broken down into numbers 1 and 3, alludes to the 13, number of transformation, rebirth and change.
